Dr. John McDermott joined GVS in 1988 and became a practice owner in 1991. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Master's Degree in Reproductive Physiology and from the School of Veterinary Medicine. His expertise includes reproduction, developmental orthopedic diseases, dentistry, production management, quality management, quality milk and dairy farm profit enhancement.
Dr. Sarah Jensen joined GVS in 2007 as a veterinary associate and became a practice owner in 2011. She has a particular interest in equine lameness. Dr. Jensen is Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians (MAV) certified to provide both acupuncture and chiropractic treatments for large animals. She completed training under the International Veterinary Medical Association, Colorado State University, and the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association in the Spring of 2009.
Dr. John 'Jack' Rath joined GVS in 1981 as a veterinary associate and became one of the practice owners around 1983. He is a 1978 graduate of the Cornell Veterinary School. Dr. Rath has a particular interest and expertise in embryo transfer, production medicine and equine reproduction. His daughter Laura is a 2009 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and is now practicing in New York.
Dr. Lauren Marsh joined GVS as an associate veterinarian in July of 2011 and is a lifelong equestrian. She especially enjoys sharing a passion for veterinary medicine with local youngsters. A graduate of University of Virginia with dual degrees in neuroscience and economics, she attended veterinary medical school in Colorado State University, focusing in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery. One of her passions has been providing rural communities with veterinary services, and she has done everything from equine castrations and dentals on Dakota Indian reservations to an eye removal at 15,000 feet while on a medical pack trip in Peru. Aside from horses, Dr. Marsh enjoys working on camelids, small ruminants, pigs, and cattle. Preventive medicine and surgery are her specific areas of interest.
Dr. Jason Weinstein joined GVS in the Fall of 2011 as an associate veterinarian. Originally from upstate New York, he attended the University of Vermont, focusing his studies on dairy science. Following college, Jason earned both a Master's degree in Ruminant Nutrition and Physiology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis. His main interests include dairy cattle nutrition, surgery and medicine, and sheep and goat herd health. Jason is an active member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners and American Dairy Science Association.
